To earn from a cover of a song outside fromband's blanket license, submit a license you hold. fromband reviews it before the cover can earn.Submitting a license
After you upload the cover, open the track's Edit in Artist Studio. Choose the issuer (KOMCA, Songfile, Easy Song, or Other), enter the license number, attach the license document as a PDF, JPG, PNG, or WEBP file of up to 10 MB, and confirm that you hold the license and that it covers selling and distributing this cover on fromband. Only the page owner can submit a license.Review
fromband checks that the document matches this song and the number you entered. An automated check reads it first: if the document can't be read, clearly isn't a license for this song, or shows a different issuer or number, the license is declined right away with the reason, and you can fix it and submit again. fromband reviews everything else itself. While the license is under review, the cover stays as it is but can't earn yet. You get a notification and an email when the review is done.After the review
Once fromband approves the license, you can sell the cover, receive tips, make it member-only, and link it to products. An approved license is final, so you don't submit it again.If the license isn't approved, the notification gives the reason. Fix the problem and submit again from the same screen.Licenses fromband accepts
A license from KOMCA, Songfile, Easy Song, or another issuer, as long as it is for this song and covers selling and distributing your cover on fromband. If your license covers a set number of copies, staying within it is your responsibility. fromband can't tell you which license you need, so ask the issuer or a legal professional.Who can see it
